The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
