It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their batsmen to possess a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to produce her newest gem.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed her side required another 66 at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we know we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is likely to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as captain.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
